SHE'S MY HERO

There's a hero if you look inside your heart
You don't have to be afraid of what you are
There's an answer if you reach into your soul
and the sorrow that you know will melt away

And then a hero comes along
with the strength to carry on
and you cast your fears aside
and you know you can survive

So, when you feel like hope is gone
look inside you and be strong
and then you'll finally see the truth
that a hero lies in you

It's a long road when you face the world alone
No one reaches out a hand for you to hold
You can find love
if you search within your self
and the emptiness you felt will disappear

And then a hero comes along
with the strength to carry on
and you cast your fears aside
and you know you can survive

So, when you feel like hope is gone
look inside you and be strong
and you'll finally see the truth
that a hero lies in you

Lord knows dreams are hard to follow
But don't let anyone tear them away
Hold on, there will be tomorrow
In time you'll find the way

And then a hero comes along
with the strength to carry on
and you cast your fears aside
and you know you can survive

when you feel like hope is gone
look inside you and be strong
and you'll finally see the truth
that a hero lies in you

That a hero lies in you
that a hero lies in.....you.

Mariah Carey's Hero - Music Box (1993)

I am posting this song and lyric for a brave girl who had endured a painful and major surgery to correct her abnormal spine. I cant remember the tongue rolling, jaw breaking name of this procedure. (Hey, I did try to say it out loud, okay, but couldnt get it right. So I give up! I really dont like medical terms). She's due to undergo a second similar operation in the next few days.

I cant imagine how it must be for a girl like her to go through this. Twice. In a short period of time. She's in her early teens. And I was told by the father, she's a fan of my blog.

I know she will face the next surgery with a strong rebellious spirit that young teens usually have.

I am praying for her speedy recovery.

ps: Come on now, do you honestly think I would dedicate the song to my x's?

Akula, my daughter's operation went off quite well, despite losing so much blood. Her spine is now corrected and she will be in the ward for the next 3 weeks. Recuperation will take another 6 months. I have you to thank to make the operation possible. A true friend. I will blog about it later. The name of the sickness is Adolescent Idiophatic Scoliosis. Statistics shows it infects every 1 in 5 girls nowadays. Thank you again for the thought and adding it to your blog. Thank you also to the other friends in this blog.
